Ruling 1280

If someone wants to pass through his home town and stay there before travelling eight farsakhs, or if he wants to stay at a place for ten days, and similarly, if someone is unsure about passing through his home town, or he is unsure about staying at a place for ten days, then, if he changes his mind about staying in a place for ten days or passing through his home town, he must perform tamām prayers. However, if the remaining distance, even with the return journey added, is eight farsakhs, he must perform qaṣr prayers.
