Ruling 76

It is disapproved for one to face the sun or the moon when he is emptying his bowels and/or bladder. However, if he covers his private parts by some means, it is not disapproved. It is also disapproved to empty one’s bowels and/or bladder while facing the wind, on roads and streets, in alleyways, in front of the door of a house, and under fruit-yielding trees. Furthermore, while one is emptying his bowels and/or bladder, it is disapproved to eat, to take a long time, and to wash with the right hand. It is also disapproved to talk while one is emptying his bowels and/or bladder; there is no problem, however, if one is compelled to talk or if one is remembering Allah, the Exalted (saying dhikr).
