Ruling 1288*

With regard to someone who has travelled for a sinful purpose, he must perform qaṣr prayers on his return journey, whether he repents for his sin or not and whether the return journey on its own is eight farsakhs or less.

This ruling changed in March 2022. The previous version of the ruling was as follows:

“With regard to someone who has travelled for a sinful purpose, if the return journey on its own is eight farsakhs, he must perform qaṣr prayers during the return journey. And the recommended precaution is that if he has not repented, he should perform both qaṣr and tamām prayers.”
