Ritual 412

As a matter of precaution, it is not permissible in Hajj-ut-Tamatu’ to perform the tawaf of Hajj, its prayer and the sa’y before the two wuqufs (stays) at Arafat and Muzdalifah.

The only people who are permitted to perform tawaf and prayer before the two wuqufs are:

a) Women who fear the start of haydh or nifas;

b) old and ill people who find it difficult to return to Makkah or perform tawaf, after returning from Mina because of the crowds or the like;

c) people who fear from any other cause preventing them from returning to Makkah.

It is permissible for these groups of people to perform tawaf, its prayer and sa’y before the two wuqufs at Arafat and Muzdalifah, after wearing ihram for Hajj.

As a matter of voluntary precaution (al ahwatil awla), they should repeat same, where possible, by the end of Thil Hijjah.
