Would the income earned from Amazon be considered haram or not?

Q:

After the Palestine and Israel conflict, someone finds out that Amazon is based in Israel. This person depends entirely on Amazon for income but wants to avoid supporting Israeli-related businesses. With no other job options right now, what should they do in this situation, and would the income earned from Amazon be considered haram or not? Additionally, this individual follows Ayatollah Sistani.

A:

Salaamun Alaykum,

Israel, being at war with the Muslims, is counted as Kafir Harbi. It is Haram to strengthen the Kafir Harbi in fighting against the Muslims.  So working for a company belonging to Israel is forbidden. However working for a company which belongs to another country but has a branch in Israel, is only forbidden if in the common view it counts as strengthening Israel to fight against the Muslims.
