Will Allah Accept My Prayer under influence of depression medicine

Q:

Asalamualikum. I hope you are having a blessed day, I have a very important unanswered question which is stopping me from praying and becoming a better Muslim. I’ve been through a lot, and did get into drugs as a teenager. I’ve quit everything , but am in medical detox for benzos (Valium) . It is an anti anxiety sedative , which is sometimes prescribed for sleep. It doesn’t take you out of consciousness but just makes you slower. I wish I didn’t have to take it but unfortunately the withdrawals are deadly, shaking , seizures etc. So I do have to quit it with professional help by slowly cutting down the dosage. This whole process has been extremely depressing for me and I feel so lost. I just want to pray, but I’m unsure if it’s disrespectful, or okay to pray while under the influence of it. Will Allah still accept my prayer? I am looking forward to your response. Thank you , May Allah bless you 🙂

Waalaykum Salam

Sorry to hear about your situation, InshaAllah you feel better.
It isn’t disrespectful to pray while you’re consuming the medication. In fact it will be your strength against depression and anxiety.
