Ask an Alim

What should I do my husband is against to going to majalis he wants me to attend it online.

Q:

What should I do my husband is against to going to majalis he wants me to attend it online but I want my children to attend it personally so that they can learn from that environment they won’t understand or take interest if I watch it online as they’re small

A:

Salam Alaykum

Thanks for the question.

Providing children a spritual envoirnment like majalis is very important for their strong religious brought up although this is not enough for you to go outside your husband’s house without his agreement. In that case, try to address his concerns if any, and to convince him in a polite and wise manner. May Allah be your Gaurdian.

Further, you can compensate not attending majalis in person by getting them attend Sunday schools and try to make a religious environment in home and telling religious stories at night and so on.

Best regards!
