Q:

My father is Hindu and my mother is muslim, they loved and respected each others religion without hurting Islamic beliefs they got married according to both religion and I also followed both religion and respected the beliefs and thought as my mother’s wish was to visit Hajj, but now she is no more as being human I want to know that what should I do to make my mother’s soul happy n fulfill her last wish.. as I want to go for hajj which I promised that I would take her with me.. Please in the name of humanity ,find me a solution to fullfill her wish.

Salamun Alaykum

Thank you for your query.

If Haj had become wajib on your mother, meaning, she had the money, health and the way was open for her to go then you can hire someone or perform the hajj yourself on her behalf. The intention will be “wajib for the proximity of Allah on her behalf”

But if Haj had not become wajib on her in her lifetime, then you can still perform the hajj with the intention: “Whatever was my mother’s responsibility to gain the proximity of Allah”

May Allah(swt) grant you success
