Ask an Alim

training become CA which deals in riba transactions

Q:

Assalamualaikum warahmatullahi wabarakatahu,
I am studying CHARTERED ACCOUNTANCY COURSE in India. In order to complete this course and become a certified CHARTERED ACCOUNTANT I need to undergo a training program which is working under a CHARTERED ACCOUNTANT which is necessary to complete before writing the final exam.
The problem is while getting trained completely I would be dealing with riba based transaction which is neither written by me nor witnessed, I just have to make them look in a format so that the government, owners and the Tax departments may use them.
My intent is to learn them so that I can while doing my practise avoid it.
Also I have the option that I can leave such riba based transactions and do work on other permissible transactions like purchase and sale of goods.
So is it permissible for me according to the sharee’ah to complete such training program,if not can I even not work at the halal part and let the riba based transaction to be done by someone else, and take the salary for work I had done?

Alaikum as-Salaam wa Rahmatullah wa Barakaatuh

If you are just learning about the functionality of riba based transactions but do not practice it, nor have any role in the implementation of such transactions then there is no issue to learn in order to complete your course.
Also you can work on other permissible areas which are not based on riba and take the salary of your work.

May Allah swt give you Barakah and keep our intentions pure.
