Ask an Alim

Nauhas that have dua chorus

Q:

Salam Alaykum Warahmatullah
Some nauhas/maatams that have a dua chorus and the kari meaning the wordings of the rest of the nauha speak about Shaam, Karbala, for example: “Ya Wajihan Indallah, Ishfa Lana Indallah” or “Allahuma Swalli Ala Muhammadin Wa Aali Muhammad”. Are these type of nauhas/latmiyaas allowed to be done maatam to? And can there be a slightly higher chance to get your azadaari accepted with the Wasilla of that particular dua? Thank you

A:

Wa alaykum salaam
It is okay to recite such nawhas.

The conditions for the acceptance of azadari is that it has to be performed with sincerity and within the boundaries of sheriah.
