Mustahab Ghusl during the week


Dear Alim I have small question about Ghusl As per islam, during the week ( I mean Sunday to Saturday) is there any preferable days for Ghusl or any days can be Ghusl (just body cleaning purpose only) Note: do not reply about Friday or any of Compulsory Ghusl – That’s all I knew Thanks

Wa-Alaykum As Salaam

The following is a list of mustahab Ghusls that can be, according to the rulings of Syed Sistani, be considered sufficient to be able to perform worship (such as prayers) with with out the need to perform ablution. (Friday ghusl included for completion)

1. Friday: Between adhan subh and maghrib and better to be close to dhuhr and if after, without intention of Ada or Qadha and if after, until maghrib of Saturday as Qadha (better Saturday between subh and maghrib).  Best to supplicate the following:

أشْهَدُ أنْ لا إله إِلاَّ اللَّهُ وَحْدَهُ لا شَرِيك لَهُ ، وأشْهَدُ أنَّ مُحَمَّداً عَبْدُهُ وَرَسُولُهُ ، اللهم صل علی محمد و أل محمد واجْعَلْنِي مِنَ التَوَّابِينَ ، واجْعَلْني مِنَ المُتَطَهِّرِينَ

2. Ramadhan:  night 1

3. Ramadhan: night 7

4. Ramadhan: night 19

5. Ramadhan: night 21

6. Ramadhan: night 23

7. Ramadhan: night 24

8. Eid Al Fitr

9. Eid Al Adh-ha – both 8-9 better between adhan subh and maghrib and best before Salatul Eid.

10 Dhi Al Hujja Day 8

11. Dhi Al Hujja Day9 – this one is better during dhur time

12. Ghusl of touching deceased

13. Ihram

14. Entering Harram Makkah

15. Entering Makkah

16. Entering ziyrat House of Kabbah

17. Entering Kabbah

18. Ghusl for slaughtering animals in Hajj

19. Ghusl for shaving in Hajj

20. Entering Harram Madinah

21. Entering Madinah

22. Entering Masjid of the Prophet SAWA

23. Entering Grave of the Prophet SAWA

24. Ghusl of Mubahila

25. Ghusl of Istikhara

26. Ghusl for Istisqa and requesting for rains.

Other ghusls that are mustahab do not suffice for worship and ablution must be performed.
