am I obliged to cut off the sound each time or  is there a tolerance for the music in movies?

Music is haram even if its in movies.

Ayatullah Sistani’s ruling on music is: If the music accompanying it is that which is suitable for entertainment and amusement gatherings, it is not permissible to listen to it.
