Masturbating in Ramadhan

Q:

I mastuburated last night..But i didnt take shower..I just clear the clothes and my body from where it was placed.On the next day I do sehri and didnt offer prayer..I took ghusl at 6 am and then offer prayer..was it acceptable???

A:

Wa alaykum salam

Masturbation is haram in Islam.
Ghusl has to be done before the morning azan.
But if the person who does ghusl after the morning azan, is unaware of the ruling that staying in janabah makes the fast void has to refrain from eating and drinking (imsaak)’on that day and has to pay qaza as well.
And if he is aware of the ruling, together with imsaak and paying qaza fast,he has to give penalty (kaffara)as well
