Is talking to a homosexual guy

Q:

Is talking to a homosexual guy with no desire or lust or any sexual desire is it permissible (jaiz)

A:

Salamun Alaykum

Thank you for your query.

A person who is a male and homosexual has the status of a man and in this case, the ruling is the same as other men. It means that all the rules of communication with non-mahrams should be observed in this case by a female. And vice versa, That is, if this side is a man and the other side is a homosexual woman, the other side being a woman and non-mahram to the man must observe the Islamic rulings but if you are a female, he will be your non-mahram as he is a male even if homosexual.

In itself, there is nothing wrong in merely speaking to a homosexual from the same gender without lust, if it doesn’t lead to haram, but if the homosexual is from the opposite gender than yours, then the non-mahram relationship should be taken care of, as mentioned above.

It is not permissible for a man to look at another man with lust; similarly, it is not permissible for a woman to look at another woman with lust.

Homosexuality (Ash-shudhûdh al-jinsi) is haram. Similarly, it is forbidden for a female to engage in a sexual act with another female, i.e. lesbianism.
