Ask an Alim

Is repentance enough or should expose sin to wife

Q:

As-Sa-La-Mo-Alykum
I have a question which has been troubling me and I hope you can help. I am a happily married man with children and have been married 7-8 years. My wife was going through some cycle changes in her body and we have been less intimate for a while. In some moments of weakness I visited a massage place 3 times and received intimate massages from women, body to body etc. There was however no sexual intercourse at all in the 3 visits. I have since sincerely repented and not gone again since last 5 months and dont intend to ever go.
Is repentence enough or do I need to expose my sin to my wife, I am deeply ashamed and worried that if I tell her it may have harmful affects on our marraige.
Thanks
regards

Wa alaykum salaam
Islam does not allow a person to disclose his sins to ANYONE except Allah s.w.t.
A believer is very dear to Allah s.w.t. and He does not like His servant be belittled infront of others.
What matters is that a person realizes his mistake and decides not to repeat it again.
Therefore if a person truly repents in Allah’s presence it is enough and Allah loves those who repent.
