Is it permissible to shave beard for army training?

Asalamalikum I live in a muslim country Bahrain and i am in the process of joining The army But i have to shave my beard for training Just For training i am allowed to grow it back later Can i Do it ? I know that shaving is haram but will it be ok for just 3 4 months of training btw I don’t have a grown beard its just small patches

Wa Alaykumussalam

Thank you for your query.

If you have the option to join the army or military and later you are forced to shave, you should not go for it. But if going to the military is a law and compulsory for all and this work is compulsory for the soldier and he has no other option then it is permissible in this case.

According to Ayatullah al-Udhma Sayyid Ali Sistany:

Question: What is the minimum requirement for keeping a beard?

Answer: Shaving the beard is Haram based on obligatory precaution, and this includes the hair that grows on the sides of the face. However, there is no problem in shaving the hair that grows on the cheeks and the necks. The minimum requirement of beard should be as much as the custom norm (Urf) state that “this person has a beard”, even if is for example trimmed to a beard size 3.

May Allah(swt) grant you success
