Insincere intentions for Hifze Quran

Q:

Assalamualeikum, I have not been a good Muslim for the last few years, but a few months ago I randomly decided to start becoming a hafidh of the Quran and have been a completely different person since. However, before starting I told my friend that I was going to do it, to show him I was going to be more pious from now. My question is that does that make my intentions impure and invalidate my hifdh? I have repented to Allah regarding this matter several times but I am still fearful that my effort may be wasted.
Jazakallah khair.

Waalaykum Salam

Thank you for your Question,

Not at all! when you  wanted to start Hifdh, you wanted to share your decision with a friend. And this is quiet normal. Now that you have manged to do Hifdh then you should know that its a favour on you from Allah (az) and you should make the most of this opportunity. Dont let Satan deviate you.  please continue your noble work and day by day increase your sincerity by acting upon the ayahs that you are reading inshaAllah

please pray for us too,
regards,
