I’m struggling in life and as much as I pray none of my prayers are being accepted everything in my life is failing

Q:

Ok I’m struggling in life and as much as I pray none of my prayers are being accepted everything in my life is failing I don’t know why other people around me get mostly what they want but for me not even a single thing is working even when I try hard So my question is why is Allah making me suffer so much I have had so much patient and I was giving myself hope that one day inshallah everything will work out but there is nothing good in my life that I can live for I am so tired of it

A:

As-salamu Alaikum Wa Rahmatullah

thanks for your question

in the Islamic viewpoint There are multiple reasons for our issues and suffering in life; there are reasons for not accepting prayers as well (like sins, being disrespectful toward parents and elders, divine test etc.) which clearly repenting and doing good deeds InsahAllah will neutralize the effects of sins.

Sometimes we ignore good things that happened for us and mainly focus on bad events

Sometime bad things happens for us as a test (Allah swt in 21:35 says “We will test you with good and ill by way of test“)

Imam Ali a.s in letter 31 of Nahj-ul-balagha says:

“Delay in acceptance of prayer should not disappoint you because grant of prayer is according to the measure of (your) intention. Sometimes acceptance (of prayer) is delayed with a view to its being a source of greater reward to the asker and of better gifts to the expectant. Sometimes you ask for a thing but it is not given to you, and a better thing is given to you later, or a thing is taken away from you for some greater good of yours, because sometimes you ask for a thing which contains ruin for your religion if it is given to you. ”
