How to go to university in a halal way, because the loans offered by the government in the UK charge interest …..

Q:

As Salaam Alaykum, I was wondering how someone would be able to enter university in a halal way, because the loans offered by the government in the UK charge interest but you don’t have to pay it back until you earn a certain amount, so is it possible to take their loan? Even if you know there’s a chance you might not be able to pay it back! Otherwise, would a person have to save up for tuition fees etc? Also, another question is that recently a compilation of universities who have partnered with universities in Israel or give money to companies that are complicit in Israeli crimes has been made, and almost every university in some way or the other contributes so is it permissible to go to a university knowing they contribute to Israel? The link for the website is: https://www.palestinecampaign.org/university-complicity-database/

Wa alaykum salaam

Thank you for your question.

You are allowed to take the loans offered by the government. Whilst taking the loan make an intention that you will only payback the actual amount and somehow try and escape from paying the interest.
The knowledge that the bank will sooner or later force him to pay the capital as well as the interest does not affect [the lawfulness of] his taking the money.

Regarding the universities which support israel ; it is not allowed to take any step or do anything that effectively supports israel.
