Explanation about Ayah of Holy Quran

Q:

Salam
My question is regarding verse 5:32 where it mentions that it was to told to bani Israel the only reasons for killing a person are murder and spreading mischief. My question is why isn’t adultery mentioned in this verse as the death penalty for adultery is in the Torah which was what was revealed to bani Israel and Moses.
Thank you for taking my question

Salam Alaykum Va Rahmatullah

First: In the verse 5:32 Quran says, “مِنْ أَجْلِ ذَٰلِكَ كَتَبْنَا عَلَىٰ بَنِي إِسْرَائِيلَ أَنَّهُ مَنْ قَتَلَ نَفْسًا بِغَيْرِ نَفْسٍ أَوْ فَسَادٍ فِي الْأَرْضِ فَكَأَنَّمَا قَتَلَ النَّاسَ جَمِيعًا وَمَنْ أَحْيَاهَا فَكَأَنَّمَا أَحْيَا النَّاسَ جَمِيعًا ۚ وَلَقَدْ جَاءَتْهُمْ رُسُلُنَا بِالْبَيِّنَاتِ ثُمَّ إِنَّ كَثِيرًا مِنْهُمْ بَعْدَ ذَٰلِكَ فِي الْأَرْضِ لَمُسْرِفُونَ”

In the translation of Mr Yusuf Ali “فَسَادٍ فِي الْأَرْضِ ” got translated to “spreading mischief” which is not an accurate translation, because فساد is corruption and فی الارض means on the earth and in this verse is not talking about “spreading” mischief or corruption.

Secondly: Quran is not the book for the details of the Fiqhi law and normally when it talks about a Fiqhi law, it talks inconclusively on the surface. Why? It is because the sources of Islamic knowledge is not only Quran, but Quran and the Sunat of Prophet and his successors. They know the details of sharia laws and the explanation of Quranic verses so they give us the details. In the sunat of our Prophet and the Ahadith of Ahlul Beyte one of the examples of corruption is Adultery. Nonetheless the punishment of the death for adultery also, has many condition and all the adulterers are not condemned to death.

Thirdly; this verse is not mentioning a specified verses of Torah, but yes in the Torah also the punishment for adultery is death.

If you need more clarification Please feel free to ask.
