Ask an Alim

Durood Nariyyah

Q:

I have a haafiz friend who I had asked about some surah/wazifah for resolving my issues with marriage, etc.
He checked with one of his sheikhs and requested that I recite Durood Nariyah 4444 times and finish it as soon as possible.
This is one of the best wazifahs according to him. I read up about it and it turns out that it is very jalali and that it is so strong that I can get miracles done with this durood. I freaked out a bit and didn’t do this wazifah. I need to understand if I should start with this as I now need an effective wazifah for mushkilaat which have dawned on me recently.

Can you please help with this (?)

Regards

Salamun Alaykum

Thank you for your query.

I did not find an authentic text about this in either Sunni or Shiite sources. Durood or Salawat Nariyah means that it acts like a quick fire. It seems to be a personal experience of people and I did not find any traces of it in hadith sources.

For marriage, you can do things that have come from Masumeen(as). For example: It is narrated from Amirul Momineen(as) that a person who intends to get married should pray two rakats and recite Surah Yasin after “Hamd” in each rakat. After finishing the prayer, praise the Lord and recite this dua:

It is better to spend your time on something that you are sure of. If you want to recite Durood Nariyah, you should not attribute it to Masoom or expect a special effect from it. I recommend that you recite the Duas and supplications and perform the A’maal from the authentic source.

You can see different Duas for marriage from the following link:

May Allah(swt) grant you success
