Ghusl Performed as a Precaution

Q:

In the past, I have performed ghusl janabat as a precaution when I didn’t know whether the obligation was on me. I am a very worrisome person, and when I wasn’t sure, I hastened to complete ghusl. Are my prayers valid and accepted if some of the ghusl I have performed are out of precaution? If not, what can I do to fix this problem?

A:

Salamun Alaykum,

The ruling is quite clear: the Ghusl of Janabah is wajib in certain circumstances. When the circumstance arises, Ghusl is deemed wajib.

Your question is unclear: how can Ghusl be performed when you were not sure that it was Wajib?

If you follow the rule of thumb above, insha’Allah life will become easier. Strive to stop Satan from creating doubts in your mind.
