Ask an Alim

Can my daughter continue to have breast milk past the age of 2 or would we be committing ghunnah?

Q:

As-Salamu Alaikum wa rehmatullah,
My question is…
My daughter is nearly 2 years old and she is currently breastfed by her mother (my wife). My daughter is allergic to cows milk, goats milk, soya milk. Thus she has an allergic reaction to these milks, i.e. she starts to itch which turns into a red rash like eczema on her body every time she has these dairy products. Can my daughter continue to have breast milk past the age of 2 or would we be committing ghunnah?
Jazakallah khairan

Hence, there is no issue to continue however it maybe difficult for her to wean later on.
Also on a side note, you may want to try almond milk.

Hope this helps
