Ask an Alim

Can a person in firdaws wish to have the same reward of the lowest one.

Q:

Can a person in firdaws wish to have the same reward of the lowest one? (10 time the things of this world)

A:

Waalaykum al-Salam
I hope that I have understood your questions well.
A reward is not something that you negotiate, it simply means that it is something you deserve after a certain action or deed.
Besides, in that realm, the rewards are going to be such that a person will fully and thoroughly enjoy them and will not wish to have any of this mundane world’s greatest bounties.

Allah says in Sura al-Ra’ad:26

Meaning: Allah expands the provision for whomever He wishes, and tightens it. They boast of the life of this world, but compared with the Hereafter the life of this world is but a [trifling] enjoyment.

Hence, it is not possible to provide a concrete answer as to what would one wish to have or not have in a world that will be full of perfection. Since no one has experienced it in this world.

Allah knows best,
