Can I mother break up with a diobedient daughter ?

Thank you for your question. Muslims are not allowed to completely cut off relations with their close relatives, however, you can distance yourself from a family member in certain situations (not completely cutting them off) and that distance is dependant on the level of disobedience and the age and needs of the child. With children, especially teenagers, it is wise to seek the roots of the issues and seek solutions. However, when the child has become and adult (at the age of around 21) and a solution cannot be found, it is alright to maintain a distance.
