Man Listening to a Female Voice

Q:

What is meant by the “desire” or “excitation” created by the listening of a woman’s voice reciting elegies (during mourning ceremonies) ? What is the judgement about that if it causes desire for some listeners but not for others?

A:

What is meant by “desire” or « excitation »,  is a matter of sexual arousal. The criterion is that the voice heard must not cause sexual desire in the male gender in general.

As for the listening of the listener, he must not take pleasure in listening.
