Ask an Alim

I don’t know if this feeling was Allah’s answer to my istikhara?

Q:

Assalamu alaykum, I am currently in a relationship with a girl (for 1.5 years almost) and I recently told my parents about us and our relationship and asked them if they’ll allow us to get married in the future and their answer was no (due to cultural differences). I was obviously so heartbroken and sad but then I decided to do istikhara and see what Allah shows me. After my istikhara, I started to get a feeling that I’m fine without a relationship and that I’m not that sad anymore. I don’t know if this feeling was Allah’s answer to my istikhara, someone help me please

Waalykum salam

Thank you for your Question.
Love has a very deep meaning and what a young man may feel towards opposite gender would be infatuation. (The later dies down after a while and or with distance).
I’m not sure what’s the case on your end as you know best.
I’m not also sure what the Istikhara May have done as we don’t have the capacity to answer Questions relating to that, however, maybe it is your connection with God, your plea and your attention towards him in such a way that may have triggered this sense of real Love towards him and a sense of obedience.
We have many instances in the past that has proven such movements.
You may want to make the most of this state and improve it.
InshaAllah you’re able to find a wonderful wife who can take you both towards the real love and that is  Allah (swt)
Kind regards,
